Garment Details: The Butano Button Up is both an understated essential and the ultimate styling workhorse in your wardrobe! The Butano has a relaxed fit with enough ease to feel effortless without being entirely oversized. It comes with options to be sewn with short sleeves or long sleeves with a bound placket and cuff.

The optional neckerchief runs through belt loops on the collar stand and can be worn in a bunch of different ways. The shirt also features bust darts, a back pleat, collar stand, and a cute chest patch pocket.

The instructions feature clever construction to make the trickier aspects of sewing a button up achievable for the confident beginner!

Sizing: This is a multi-size pattern, including sizes sizes XS/0 - 7X/32 (32”/81cm -60”/152cm chest).  Sizing information, fit notes, finished garment measurements and fabric requirements can be found here.

Fabric Suggestions: The Butano Button Up is designed for woven fabrics. Any sort of light to medium weight woven is suitable. If you choose a fabric like a mid-weight twill or denim you will get a more structured top. If you choose a drapier fabric like a rayon challis or silk, you will get a blousier top.

  • The green/white striped photo shoot sample is a made from a cotton poplin.
  • The white photo shoot sample is made from a 4.5 oz silk noil.
  • The checked orange/yellow short sleeved version is made from a Merchant & Mills 5 oz 100% linen called Island Life.
  • The patchwork short sleeved version is made from a crinkle rayon challis fabric.

Trims required: Matching thread, for the short sleeved version: 7 - 5/8”[1.6cm] buttons, for the long sleeved version: 9 - 5/8”[1.6cm] buttons & 1 yard[.9 meters] - 22”[56cm] wide Fusible interfacing

The paper pattern is printed on tissue paper, comes packaged in an envelope and includes highly detailed fully illustrated instructions.
