This type of oilskin is water-resistant, making it suitable for brief exposure to a very light drizzle of rain. When caught in a light rain shower, the fabric coating will cause water to bead and roll off initially. However, with repeated or prolonged exposure to rain, water may eventually penetrate the fabric, so it is best suited for limited exposure. Perfect for quick trips from the shops to your car or other short outdoor activities.

Some pattern suggestions; the Foreman jacket, particularly fab for an outdoor September Coat, a Lab Coat or a Landgate Top or the Workaday apron.

Treated with an emulsified wax. This binds a wax-based product with water to give a non-oily finish. The solutions are heat-processed into the cloth for a longer lasting finish and higher performance. The finish is vegan.

Care instructions: This material can be washed by hand, but it would need re-proofing and the surface does change, so it is best to avoid any washing if you can. Cool iron only or finger press.
