  • Make a Selection

By Merchant & Mills, The Scout is a paper sewing pattern.

Garment Details:

The Scout was inspired by 1920's women's scouting uniforms. Make as a neat shirt or dress with optional tie. The dress has in-seam pockets.

Sizing: This is a multi-size paper pattern in an envelope, including sizes UK 6–18 or 18-28.  Sizing, finished garment measurements and fabric requirements can be found by refering to the charts in the images displayed.

Judy is wearing the dress in Elan Green Organic Cotton/Linen size 10.

Sandra is wearing the dress in Finnhamn by Merchant & Mills, similar fabric is the French Sailor Stripe, size 12.

Judy is wearing the top in Overdyed Indigo Slub size 10.

Oona is wearing the dress in a 14 Wale Corduroy size 20.

Fabric Suggestions: We recommend linen, lightweight denim, cotton chambray, poplin, linen/cotton blends. If you choose something with less drape the top will have a more sculptural look.

Trims required: Matching thread,

6 x 11-15mm/½ - ¾" buttons. 0.5m/¾yd interfacing shirt & dress. 0.8m/1yd interfacing for the tie (cut on the bias).

Skill Level: Suitable for an intermediate skill level.

All seam allowances are 1.5cm unless otherwise stated.
