Garment Details: With Lucent Visor's extra curves and a deep brim, the shaping turns this sports hat into a piece of sculpted millinery. Perfect for outdoor cocktails or a morning run. Make it in light denim to luxe silks. The level of statement is up to you.
The Lucent Visor is made with an internal structure keeps the hat flexible but firm so it can re-emerge from your bag in shape.
The Maker's Kit is an optional extra that you can purchase, the kit includes those hard to get notions to make one Lucent Visor (please note this kit does not include the pattern):
Cotton Fusible White Buckram = 30 cm x 110 cm / 11 13/16" x 43 5/16"
Elastic = 38 mm x 65 cm / 1 1/5" x 25 9/16"
Plastic Millinery Wire = 1.2 mm x 120 cm / 1/16 x 47 1/4"
Millinery Ferrule = 2 (1 extra incase you drop one, they are tiny)
Sizing: Pattern includes three brim sizes from small to large. So you can choose how bold to go. The hat band is elasticized and custom sized in construction, fitting most, from kids up to a 62 cm crown.
Fabric Suggestions: Woven Mid-weight fabrics. The structure is built with interfacing and plastic hat wire.
Fabric requirements: Option A: Contrasting lining & two piece bias binding; Main fabric: 45cm x 100cm, contrastic lining: 30cm x 100cm. Option B: Self lined and two piece bias binding; Main fabric: 55cm x 100cm. Option C: Contrasting lining and one piece bias binding; Main fabric: 80cm x 100cm, contrasting lining: 30cm x 100cm and Option D: Self lined and one piece bias binding: Main fabric: 80cm x 100cm.
Trims required: Matching thread, Buckram aka - Cotton fusible interfacing 30cm x 110cm, elastic 38mm x 65cm, plastic millinery wire 1-1.5 mm x 120 cm and metal crimps / ferrules -To finish wire loop, heavy weight sewing needles.
Skill Level: Suitable for an intermediate skill level.
Seam allowances are included in the pattern.
The paper pattern comes packaged in an envelope and includes instructions and a helpful description of notions required and clear steps with photos and illustrations.
