Accessory Details: The ADELE boutonnière is a decorative accessory that adds character to your everyday outfits. Though traditionally worn by men, the boutonnière offers a way to make a style statement and add a touch of creativity and charm to any wardrobe. This is the perfect project for beginners, enabling you to put your fabric scraps to good use.

Attach ADELE to structured garments such as jackets or coats, or to woven fabrics, and it will hold its shape and stay in place thanks to discreet pins.
Suitable fabrics: Use light to medium-weight fabrics – the larger the rose, the lighter your fabric should be. You can also mix and match different types of fabric.
Delicate knits are less suitable, as the flower needs a solid base to support it.
The samples are made from fabric scraps and leftovers such as “Pillar Box 130 European Laundered Linen” (100% linen, 3.8 oz/130 gsm), “Vetiver Check European Laundered Linen/Cotton” (50% linen, 50% cotton, 4.7 oz/161 gsm), “Nougat European Laundered Linen Gingham” (100% linen, 5.9 oz/200 gsm) by Merchant & Mills, and “Ikat Pochampally” (100% cotton, 3.5 oz/120 gsm) by Karlotta Pink.
Final Measurements: The height and diameter of the rose depend on how loosely or widely you stitch it. As a reference, you can use the following measurements: Height for small, medium, large: 3.6"/9 cm, 5.5"/14 cm, 8.3"/21 cm and diameter 4.7"/12 cm, 7.5"/19 cm, 10.2"/26 cm.
Fabric requirements: Upper and lower fabric: Small: 16.1 x 14"/41 x 35.5 cm. Medium: 24.2 x 20.9"/61.5 x 53 cm and Large: 32.3 x 28"/82 x 71 cm
Trims required: Matching thread, 1–3 brooch pins or safety pins. Hand-sewing needle
Skill level: This pattern is recommended for intermediate sewers.
